( CMDO)

CMDO is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable women, children and families in Ethiopia.

We believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, hope and opportunity, regardless of their circumstances. Our work focuses on responding to immediate needs while also creating opportunities that help individuals and communities build stronger and more sustainable futures.

We work with communities to identify their needs and develop practical, compassionate solutions that can make a lasting difference.

What We Do

Our work focuses on five key areas:

Children’s Education & School Support – helping vulnerable children access education, learning materials and opportunities to reach their potential.

Women’s Health & Maternal Support – supporting women and mothers with health information, maternal support, nutrition and access to essential services.

Women’s Cooperative & Small Business Development – helping women develop skills, create livelihoods and build financial independence.

Supporting Displaced Communities – providing practical assistance and support to women, children and families affected by displacement and humanitarian challenges.

Feeding Ethiopia – providing food and nutrition support to vulnerable children, women and families facing food insecurity.

Our Approach

We believe lasting change starts with listening to communities.

Rather than simply providing short-term assistance, we aim to support people in ways that strengthen their independence, resilience and ability to create better futures for themselves and their families.

We value respect, transparency, inclusion and compassion in everything we do. We seek to work collaboratively with local communities, volunteers, supporters and partner organisations to ensure that resources are directed where they can have the greatest positive impact.

Our vision is of an Ethiopia where women are empowered, children have access to education and nutrition, and vulnerable families and displaced communities can live with dignity, security and hope.

Our mission is to deliver compassionate and practical support to vulnerable women and children, respond to humanitarian needs, promote education and health, and create opportunities for women and communities to become more self-reliant.
